# B3 multi-chain (shelved)

**Status:** shelved. The B3 chain deployment did not deliver expected results and is no longer a strategic priority.

## What it was

In early 2025, Alien Base deployed a fork of its V2 contracts on the [B3 chain](https://b3.fun/) (an L3 / app-chain in the Base ecosystem focused on gaming). It was framed as a multi-chain expansion play — replicate the Alien Base UX on a new chain that didn't yet have a strong DEX presence.

## What happened

The deployment shipped, but the chain itself was never fully launched. The team's [October 2025 roadmap retrospective](https://medium.com/@alienbase/alien-base-roadmap-plotting-the-next-phase-of-the-invasion-11ede525e2ea) explicitly classifies B3 among the items that "did not deliver." The takeaway, in the team's words: high-investment cross-chain partnerships need a much higher bar of evidence before being undertaken again.

## Implications for current strategy

* The team is not actively planning new multi-chain expansions.
* Future cross-chain footprints, if any, would likely come via aggregators / bridges integrating Alien Base — not via direct deployments.
* Effort that would have gone to multi-chain is now concentrated on the Base-native product depth: Mothership, Epsilon Router, Token Generator v2.
